How was it possible for Hamas to launch an incredibly fast attack on Israel by land, air and water?

When this attack started, many Israelis might be sleeping.

Sunday was a Sabbath for Jews, which means many families were planning to spend time at home, meet friends, or go to places of worship.

But suddenly, in the early morning, the rain of rockets signaled the beginning of an attack that was unusual in terms of scale and planning.

Israel has been blocking the Gaza Strip for years through barriers. However, within a few hours on Sunday, these barriers were crossed by Hamas.

"Indication of rocket attacks"

Hamas, the organization that controls the Gaza Strip and is considered a terrorist organization by many countries including Britain, continued to use the tactic of firing rockets. Israel's new defense system, Iron Dome, is usually effective against these rockets, but in a very short time, thousands of rockets had rendered the system ineffective.

The large number of rockets indicates that the planning for this attack had been ongoing for months. Hamas claims that in the first stage, five thousand rockets were fired, while according to Israel, the number of rockets fired was half of what Hamas claimed.

Alarms started sounding from the Gaza Strip, 60 kilometers away from the Israeli capital, Tel Aviv, and soon missiles began to fall in western Jerusalem and other cities.

During the rain of rockets, Hamas fighters gathered at the locations from where they had to cross the obstacles separating Gaza.

It is clear that Israel had removed its army and settlers from Gaza in 2005, but until now, Israel still has control over the airspace, borders, and coast of Gaza.

Around the Gaza Strip, there are concrete walls in some places and barbed wire fences in others. There are also military checkpoints, as well as camera networks and sensors installed to prevent such attacks.

Within a few hours, this obstacle was overcome at various locations.

How did Hamas overcome the obstacle?

Some Hamas fighters completely overcame the obstacle, including space gliders (at least seven such space gliders were seen in unauthorized footage in Israel). Some fighters entered Israel through boats.

The Israeli army says that it prevented two Hamas boats from entering Israel.

But the nature of this attack was multiple and organized attacks on crossing points.

At 5 o'clock, the initial images were shared on the Telegram account of the armed wing of Hamas, which were taken at the location of Karim Shalom. This is the southernmost point for entering Gaza in Israel.

In these images, it can be seen that armed fighters cross the fence and attack a military checkpoint, and then the bloody bodies of two Israeli soldiers are seen on the ground.

In another image, armed fighters on five motorcycles pass through a section of the fortified barrier that has been cut.

In another section, the fortified barrier was being demolished with the help of a bulldozer. Several armed individuals were present here, and some of them started crossing the barrier that was being divided.

Karim Shalom was about 43 kilometers away, to the north of Gaza, another attempt was being made by Hamas to overcome the dangerous obstacle at the location of the Erez crossing.

In the footage being released from here, it can be seen that an explosion occurs on the concrete barrier, which signals the beginning of the attack, and then an armed warrior waves his hand towards his comrades, signaling them to move forward.

Wearing bulletproof jackets, holding rifles, eight warriors run towards the Israeli military checkpoint and start firing.

In this video, the bodies of Israeli soldiers can be seen on the ground as the warriors, who are clearly trained and organized, inspect all the rooms in the compound.

On the Gaza Strip, there are seven government crossing points, six of which are under Israeli control and one under Egyptian control. However, within a few hours, Hamas found a way to infiltrate the Israeli territory from the entire border.

Attackers' reach deep inside Israel

Hamas fighters have spread in all directions after leaving Gaza. Information obtained from Israeli authorities indicates that they attacked 27 locations and apparently they were ordered to shoot as soon as they saw something suspicious.

The furthest point reached by Hamas fighters is the town of Ufakim, which is 22 kilometers east of Gaza.

In Sderot, fighters passed through the town in a pickup truck, which is three kilometers east of Gaza.

About a dozen armed fighters were seen on the empty streets of Ashkelon, which is in the north of Israel. Similar scenes were witnessed in multiple locations in southern Israel, and Israeli authorities urged civilians to stay hidden in their homes.

Green areas were crossed with difficulty, while red areas were where Hamas fighters were found. Near the border, a music festival was taking place in a desert where a large number of young people were participating. An eyewitness told BBC that armed militants were driving in a van full of weapons and were searching for more Israeli targets for three hours after initial firing.
